On the 13 November, Oxoford University Press donated 1,000 books to Ummangaliso’s recently launched library.

In December we hosted a 3 day Retreat Camp at the beautiful Bodhi Khaya Retreat Centre, nr Hermanus, for 12 learners from COSAT seconday school in Khayelitsha. Through a variety of creative, engaging activities and teachings, this unique Summer Camp focused on teaching the children how to reach their personal potential.
Thanks to ‘Interact’, Bread Buddies has been re-introduced at the school, and sandwiches are distributed to the SII primary schools on a weekly basis.
SII Library Assistants Attend Help to Read Training
The 100UP learners experienced an awesome July vacation when they stayed over at UCT during their residential camps.
On Friday 25 July, Intshayelelo Primary celebrated the first year anniversary of their library – an event that also marked Madiba Day.
The UCT Community Development Occupational Therapy students have developed a homework program for the Grade 6 learners based on the needs identified within Intshayelelo.
